Top Ten Frameworks for Highly Sensitive People
By
Anna Dargitz, PhD, Trained Mentor Coach
1. Sometimes it's a jungle out there.
The egos of so many people are vying for recognition, acceptance and notoriety. You may get wounded. And that's a problem that can't be solved. Design an environment that protects you well.
2. The risk of losing your Self and your sense of greatness can be reduced.
Possible ways include:
a. Reframe situations where you think you failed
b. Look for ways to control for too much stimulation
c. Seek out sensitive people you trust to help you remember your true Self when you feel overwhelmed
d. Ask for what you want from people who distress you (Then give yourself a reward, for trying!)
e. Focus on staying calm and trying to take things one-step at a time.
3. If you are not in a state of flow and joy with what you are doing , there's usually a better way to do it. Find a better way.
4. Your success in life is a by-product of you staying connected to your emotions …what you want and what you don't want.
It doesn't come from pushing yourself to do more or be someone else
5. Emotions are your teachers. Listen to them.
They will tell you whether you are doing the right thing, following your joy, connected to the greatness of your true Self, and if you are in the right place at the right time…or not. It's easy. If you feel good, all the above apply. If you feel crappy, say to yourself, "wait a minute, I need to listen to what my emotions have to say about this".
6. Don't delay checking in with how you are feeling.
Delay becomes increasingly expensive to your sense of well-being and your success in any form.
7. Work is for joy.
When joy is missing from the work you are doing, you've lost your connection with your Self. Call it back by listening to yourself…your mind, body and spirit.
8. Problems in life are immediate opportunities to create something new.
Like you can write a top ten list of ways you can reframe your problem. You can use the problem to keep you on track with your vision. Or you can create a new system to handle the problem so it doesn't happen
agai.n. Problems can become a chance to leave and take a needed walk in nature to re-discover the wonder of the Universe…
9. Always remember…people are doing their very, very best, even when they clearly are not.
In the bigger scheme of things, we are all on a personal path up the mountain of greater awareness. It's a rocky climb sometimes. And fog can obstruct our vision.
10. Life is about us, and it's not personal.
Life is neutral. We are the only species that takes things personally. You are part of a greater whole and a greater mission of life expressing itself through you. Your part is unique and important. Pay attention to allowing life to express itself…at its' most refined level…through you. Don't take credit for it nor blame yourself for what wants to be expressed. Just let it flow as much as you can. Take responsibility only for how you express it. That's the only part that is about you.
